Swaps, storing and making ahead
Good to know
Swaps
- No mini loaves? Use regular burger buns or brioche buns instead.
- No American cheese? Swap in cheddar or Swiss slices.
- No Dijon mustard? Use yellow mustard in the spicy mayo sauce.
Storing it
Store leftover chicken, bread and toppings separately in airtight containers in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat the chicken in a hot oven or air fryer until steaming hot.
Making it ahead
The spicy mayo sauce can be mixed and refrigerated a day ahead, and the chicken can be breaded a few hours ahead and kept chilled before frying.
