Copyright and takedowns

Last updated 22 October 2026

Creators publish their own recipes, photos and stories on Meez, and every imported recipe credits and links its source. If something here copies your work without permission, tell us and we’ll take it down.

Quickest: report it on the page

Every creator recipe and story has a Report link. Choose ā€œIt copies someone else’s workā€ and say where the original is. Imported recipes have a Request removal link instead.

A formal notice

To send a notice under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, email [email protected] (Meez copyright agent) with:

  1. the work you say is copied (a link to the original is best);
  2. the Meez page or pages that copy it;
  3. your name, address, phone number and email;
  4. a statement that you believe in good faith the use isn’t authorised by you, your agent or the law;
  5. a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and that you own the work or may act for its owner;
  6. your physical or electronic signature.

A list of ingredients on its own isn’t protected by copyright; the written method, headnotes, stories and photos are.

What happens next

We remove or disable the page promptly and tell the creator who posted it. A creator who believes it was removed by mistake can send a counter-notice (the page, a statement under penalty of perjury that it was removed by mistake, their name, address and consent to the jurisdiction of their local federal court, and a signature). We then forward it to you and may restore the page after 10 business days unless you tell us you’ve filed a court action.

Repeat infringers

We end the publishing access of creators who repeatedly post work that isn’t theirs. Two upheld notices in twelve months stop a creator from publishing; we may act sooner for clear or deliberate copying.
