Privacy policy

The short version

Meez turns recipe links into visual cooking guides. You can use it without an account. If you do sign in, we keep the minimum we need to run your cookbook and shopping list, and we don’t sell your data to anyone.

What we collect

• Account details. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo. If you sign in by email link, we keep your email address.
• Your recipes. The URLs you import and the recipe content we extract from them, plus recipes you save and rate.
• Your lists and photos. Shopping-list items you add, and any “I made this” photos you choose to upload.
• Usage data. We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used (pages visited, general location, device type). Anonymous visitors also get a daily import counter so we can enforce fair-use limits.

How we use it

To run the product: importing and displaying recipes, generating cooking guides and narration, syncing your cookbook and shopping list across devices, sending sign-in emails, and keeping the service safe from abuse. Recipe text is processed by AI services (Anthropic for step generation, ElevenLabs for narration audio) to build your cooking guides — those providers process the recipe content, not your account details.

Where it lives

Your data is stored with our infrastructure providers: a Neon PostgreSQL database and DigitalOcean Spaces file storage (photos and images), with email delivery via Resend. We keep it only as long as your account exists.

Cookies

We set a session cookie to keep you signed in, and Google Analytics sets its usual measurement cookies. There is no advertising or cross-site tracking.

Your choices

You can use Meez without an account. You can delete photos you’ve uploaded at any time. To access, correct, or delete everything we hold about you, email [email protected] and we’ll take care of it.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we’ll update the date at the top and note it on this page.
