Viral Dirty Spaghetti is a rich, savory pasta made with seasoned ground beef, sautéed peppers and onions, and a thick, beefy tomato based sauce that coats every strand of spaghetti for the perfect bite.

## Ingredients (serves 6)

- 2 Tbs Olive Oil
- ½ cup Onion, diced
- ¼ cup Green Bell Pepper, diced
- ¼ cup Red Bell Pepper, diced
- 3 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1 pound Ground Beef
- 4 Tbs Tomato Paste
- 4 Tbs Flour
- 3 cups Beef Broth
- 1 pound Spaghetti, cooked in salted water (reserve 1 Cup of pasta water)
- 1 Tbs Cajun Seasoning
- Salt and Pepper to taste
- 1 tsp Garlic Powder

## Steps

1. Dice the onion and green and red bell peppers
2. Mince the garlic cloves
3. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium high heat
4. Add the onion and bell pepper and sauté until softened
5. Add the ground beef and cook until browned
6. Drain any excess grease
7. Season the beef mixture with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Cajun seasoning and stir well to combine
8. Add the garlic and cook until fragrant
9. Stir in the tomato paste and let it cook to deepen the flavor
10. Sprinkle in the flour and stir continuously to cook out the raw flour taste
11. Slowly pour in the beef broth, stirring constantly to avoid lumps
12. Let the mixture simmer until it thickens into a rich, gravy like sauce
13. Add the cooked spaghetti directly into the skillet and toss until fully coated
14. If the sauce is too thick, slowly pour in the pasta water until it reaches the desired consistency

## Good to know

### Swaps

- No ground beef on hand? Ground turkey or chicken works in the same amount, though the sauce will be lighter.
- No Cajun seasoning? Mix paprika with a pinch of cayenne, dried oregano and thyme to make about 1 tablespoon.
