I attended a Pampered Chef party and had this taco ring. I had ate them many times but was always to scared to make one. It's so easy--took me a few times to make it look pretty but it's really simple to do, just experiment around with it.

## Ingredients (serves 8)

- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 (1 1/4 ounce) package taco seasoning mix
- ½ cup water
- 2 (8 ounce) tubes refrigerated crescent dinner rolls
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 medium tomato, chopped
- ½ cup chopped onion
- 1 (4 ounce) can chopped green chilies, drained
- ¼ cup sliced black olives
- Sour cream (for serving)
- Salsa (for serving)

## Steps

1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef and drain excess fat. Add the taco seasoning mix and water, then cook for 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until most of the liquid is absorbed.
3. Open both tubes of crescent roll dough and separate into 16 triangles. Arrange the triangles in a circular pattern on a 13-inch round baking stone or large pizza pan, with wide ends overlapping in the center and points facing outward, creating a sun-like shape with a 5-inch diameter opening in the middle.
4. Evenly distribute the seasoned ground beef mixture over the wide ends of the triangles. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top of the meat.
5. Carefully bring the outer points of the triangles up and over the filling, tucking them under the wide ends of the dough at the center of the ring. Note that the filling will not be completely covered.
6. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown.
7. Remove the taco ring from the oven and immediately top with chopped tomatoes, onions, green chilies, and black olives.
8. Serve hot with sour cream and salsa on the side.

## Good to know

### Swaps

- No ground beef? Ground turkey or chicken works in the same amount for the filling.
- No black olives? Leave them out or use sliced green olives instead.
- No green chilies? Diced jalapeños can stand in for the canned chilies.

### Storing it

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 3–4 days. Reheat in the oven until steaming hot to keep the dough from going soggy.

### Making it ahead

The ground beef filling can be cooked and refrigerated up to a day ahead, then reheated before assembling and baking the ring.
